My most successful images are those that paint themselves.
When I get out of their way and let go of my expectations,
the images come into being through my hands,
my arms, my eyes and my heart.
Each painting tells a story that is both personal and universal at the same time.
Through the myriad forms and patterns that weave the language of the natural world
I find my inspiration - my calling - my desire to participate in the Mystery.
I use this language to evoke questions of the viewer and to promote understanding of
Self - of one's own nature - of one's journey.
Formally, I paint to appeal from a distance as well as up close to the canvas.
A painting has to engage from both perspectives in order to move me.
From afar, the forms convey a story; on the surface, the paint seduces
through texture, color, and movement.
“The ideal you hope to achieve is always ready for an incarnation,
but unless you yourself offer it human parentage, it is incapable of birth.”
